Challenge
Water treatment specialist Water Treatment Services (WTS) wanted to clarify its unique value proposition to better position itself against competitors in key markets, including mining, food and beverages, and utilities.
Although a recognised market leader, WTS was finding it difficult to explain its complex services simply, which was hampering its ability to win new business from new and existing clients.
Solution
Through rigorous research, including internal and external interviews, Davies BDM developed the brand positioning ‘making water work,’ encapsulating WTS’s advanced chemistry capabilities in industrial water treatment.
We then worked with WTS to refine its messaging and develop a straightforward language and naming system for its chemistry solutions. This allowed us to recalibrate WTS’s service and solution framework, making it easy for its sales team and non-technical stakeholders to understand.
Results
This work resulted in a more clearly defined value proposition, a solution ‘system’ for WTS consultants to use when introducing new services to clients, and a website that allows prospects to better understand and connect with the unique value offered by WTS’s chemistry professionals.
Water Treatment Services was acquired by Mak Water in 2021.
