Mak Water is an Australian leader in industrial water and wastewater management. CEO, Andy Bky, was looking for expert assistance to take the business to the next level.

While the business had always employed highly capable internal marketing managers and coordinators, Andy was looking for a strategic review of the business marketing position and marketing activity that would elevate the business and achieve his aggressive growth goals.

Solution

Davies BDM started by looking at past sales data and the make-up of Mak Water’s services and market mix.

We sought an understanding of the company’s traditional lucrative markets and emerging markets as well as its service capability within Australia and in overseas markets (with a key focus being the eastern states of Australia).

We worked with the Mak Water team and, through extensive in-house interviews, built a plan for further leveraging local markets and making inroads into new markets.

Results

Mak Water CEO Andy Byk implemented all of the Audit recommendations, which included a revised brand position and adoption of the ‘The Smart Water People’ line that focused on Mak Water’s significant internal and engineering capabilities.

In addition, the adoption of a revised service/market framework allowed the business to more clearly communicate its comprehensive service offering.
